Each character has a mostly unique set of missions to sneak through and attain grandmastery of, so the single-player game is still rather long and rewarding. You can still choose between three ninja: the quiet, mysterious Rikimaru, the hot-blooded kunoichi (read: ninja chick) Ayame, and the stocky but deadly doctor-by-day, vigilante-by-night, Tesshu. Tenchu: Return from Darkness is basically a port of the early 2003 PS2 game Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven, but it's shaping up to be a port of great worth.īut before we go into what's new, what's the same? Return from Darkness features all of the content from Wrath of Heaven, from maps to music to enemies. Now, Activision has decided to port the third Tenchu game from PS2 to Xbox. It replicated the (highly romanticized) ninja experience like nothing else before it, and established a legion of fans in the process. The original Tenchu game for the PSOne was among the first innovators of the now very popular stealth/action genre. ![]()
